What people are saying about
Wisconsin Barbell |
"I started training with Glen exactly a year ago. I had been working out at a local gym “chain” with my fiancé and friends for about a year and did lose 40 lbs. but wasn’t getting toned and losing all of the fat I had. A friend had done a Figure competition and inspired me to get into better shape and try it myself. I realized I needed help figuring out a diet and workout routine and found out about Glen from his friend that I worked out with at our gym. He had just opened his own gym so I went and talked to him. After finding out he did bodybuilding competitions and everything else he was involved in, I knew this is what I needed. I went in with the idea of competing in Figure and after a few months found I really loved powerlifting. My friends and family thought I was crazy, but it was a new challenge and I started meeting great people that were always there to push me. I competed in a few powerlifting meets and won first place every time. I still like lifting heavy weight, but wanted a new challenge so I decided to try competing in bodybuilding with Glen. This month we are doing 2 competitions.
Glen is very knowledgeable with training and how to get the results you are looking for. It doesn’t happen overnight and he has different plans for each individual. He is always patient and encouraging. The difference with Glen and some other trainers I’ve seen is he actually works the routines. He tries to find new and better ways to improve the workouts. He knows about diet and the anatomy. Training is not just about telling someone to lift a certain amount of weight or do a certain number of reps. Glen has a dedication to his clients and this business and no matter what you are looking to achieve, he can help you get there." -Trish Martin

"Glen is not only an extremely knowledgeable trainer, he walks the walk.
He is willing to compete in any venue and his enthusiasm is contagious.
I was motivated to do my first triathlon last summer and now I am planning
on competing in several powerlifting meets for the first time at age 43.
Glen also surrounds himself with other motivated, experienced people
who encourage and help each other. He has created a fantastic training atmosphere." - Drew Randall

"Glen is somebody that I would recommend to anybody looking to improve their body and mind. Not only does Glen talk the talk but he can walk the walk. He is the only person I know that can do a triathlon one week and then deadlift 630lb the next. He has amazing skills in the field of strength, nutrition, conditioning, body composition, mobility and flexibility, and is an extreme motivator."

“All I am going to say is that I love training with you, because no matter what I always felt like I was getting stronger. I’m not going to lie, not many people have made me train that hard. But thanks to you I got strong in a short period of time.”

"I have been battling with being over-weight for decades (borderline obesity). Every time I have set out to “diet”, “loose weight”, “get in shape”, whatever you want to call it, I felt like I was walking a tightrope. Sure I could get on the rope, and make it out a few steps, but it was inevitably just a matter of time before I would fall off. This has gone on for years and years and it got tiring and frustrating, not to mention what it was doing to my body. But, working out with Glen has been more like walking a footbridge, a very strong and stable footbridge. If things get shaky or uncertain along the way, I know Glen is at the other end, holding the bridge steady until I get my footing back. My journey is not over, but the results I have seen thus far are absolutely amazing and have been life changing. I am down 45 lbs. and over 25 inches. At age 38, I have not been at this weight and in this condition since high school. WOW! At this point, nothing is going to stop me and there is no turning back. I can’t wait to see where this journey leads me next!
THANKS GLEN! You truly are my hero!" - Tracy Augur

“I have seen a personal trainer at another gym for almost 15 months before I began my journey exclusively with Glen three times a week. While the other gym taught me so much and motivated me to continue, it really did nothing for measuring my progress and helping outside the gym with my diet, my focus, etc. Rotating between three or four trainers was probably the cause. There was no consistency. This actually was my biggest fear when I switch to Wisconsin Barbell because I was afraid it would not be kept fresh and mixed up enough to motivate me.”
“I could not have been more wrong (yeah, it happens, even to me!). Glen's own personal experiences along with the other clients have become a part of my day to day. I find myself talking about the gym at home and at the office which makes me realize everyday why my progress has exceeded my expectations and my goals!" - Rick Engibous

"I had to cancel alot of my workouts with Glen after work but am still getting to Bally's at 5:15am every morning w/ my fiance. When I can squeeze a late night workout in after the hospital, I meet Dean there....it's too close to quit now! I've started practicing posing, started tanning, paid all the entry fees and ordered my posing suit. The next thing is to figure out what music to do my routine to and start practicing that. (really scary!) Last weekend me, Glen & my friend Mary entered a powerlifting contest and we all took first place in our weight classes. They also gave me the Best Female Lifter trophy. I guess I'm just trying to show you that it is possible to squeeze in your workouts and work on eating better if you choose to. There are a million excuses in the world....but you have to make the time. Get into the habit of doing it and it gets easier." – Trish

"It’s not erroneous to say that every male wants to have a great physique, there is a billion dollar industry targeting males on just that. However, while most people want a great body they’re never prepared to do what it takes to obtain it, a common theme in today’s society. These days everybody wants the results with as little work as possible. About eight months ago I also wanted to get back in shape only this time the difference between other people and me was that I was going to push myself beyond my comfort zone. I was prepared to work. Just as most males think independently, I was no different when I said I could do this all myself working out at home. But what I soon realized was that one of the hardest things about consistency was that it is so easy to become complacent with yourself. You skip one day thinking it’s only one day, but then one day leads to two days, and sometimes even three. That’s where being part of Wisconsin Barbell helped me, Glen not only made it fun to come in, but when I did I certainly knew I was accomplishing something, in fact I could feel it everyday. Glen doesn’t only preach the workouts he creates, but he does them and his physique is proof that the substance within his teachings work. When I first started training all I thought about was what it would be like to look somewhat like Glen. Within about two months of eating right according to Glen’s diet specifically tailored to me and my goals, as well as working out passionately and vigorously I started to see some amazing results. Within six months I had put on roughly 18 pounds of muscle mass while losing a significant amount of body fat going from about 9.3% to around 6.3%. Coming in I weighed 140lbs, now I weigh 160lbs. The bottom line here is that you can’t put a price on the sense of satisfaction, knowing you accomplished a major goal in life. Equally as good is simply feeling good about yourself, people I haven’t seen in awhile often come up to me and ask, “Have you been working out?” Also, at the gym I’ve personally seen individuals shed over 100lbs and there are more on their way to doing that right now. Now I would be lying if I told you that it was all really painless but hey, in life the best things aren’t always easily obtained. I would recommend Glen to anyone looking to make a commitment to achievement all while having fun, you provide the will and he’ll show you the way. Get after it!" - Trevor Fabian
