Weekend Training in Georgetown
-Glen Rogers

BEWARE OF THE DOG
This weekend was a great time. Kirk and I went to Georgetown University to talk to the strength and conditioning coaches to teach, learn, and combine our skills for elite programming and sports performance.
We arrived Friday morning and checked out the S&C area and some of the campus. We then got to help coach and watch GU Baseball and M & W LaCrosse. Being from Wisconsin and seeing the H.S. kids playing LaCrosse here, it is amazing to see the differences and what it takes to get to a big time D1 school. The average size of the LaCrosse players on the Mens team were 6′2-6′5 and athletic as heck.
With the breaks in the day, Kirk and I along with two GU strength coaches Carl and “Sauce” did some repetition effort bench presses. Kirk and I went with 245 and I hit a PR with 17, 13,10 or something like that. I was jacked I got 17 reps on my first one.

We also showed Auggie and the guys how to do some psoas release, IT release, QL, Scap, Rotator, stretches… a lot of fun stuff.
On Saturday we went to GU vs. Duke. President Obama came to the game and did a little commentating as well. It was pretty cool to be in the same building and only about 100 feet away from us. I think he waved at Kirk. LOLAfter the game we did Rep Squats. Kirk and I did 315 and I hit 15,12,14. My legs are still sore. I goodmorning’d a lot of those but got them up:) After the squats I only hit 1 rep on the stone because I just felt like I wanted to throw up the rest of the time. |
